Each year, the MacDowell Club of Allied Arts, Oklahoma City, OK, awards three scholarships of $500 each to deserving high school students who will be pursuing their chosen art on an university or college level.

The MacDowell Club of Allied Arts, Oklahoma City, is offering three scholarships of $1,000 each to deserving seniors who meet the following qualifications:

                              1.  Will major in a field of the Arts on a college or university level.

                              2.  Has a need for help with private lessons, music, instrument, art supplies, etc.

                              3.  Has participated in school and community services.

                              4.  Has shown that they are a good citizen of their school  and community.


To be considered, the student will be required to submit the following:

                              1.  The enclosed completed application.

                              2.  A recent photograph.

                              3.  A one page, double spaced essay containing personal  information.

                              4.  High quality media:  DVD, CD, YouTube or Facebook (requires friending me) video or audio, photographs of his/her art,

(no group performances, please).

                              5.  Employment experience.
6.  Two recommendations, one from an adult within the school, and one from an adult 

within the community, (not a relative).                      

                              7.  Postmarked by April 21st, 2018.


Finalists will be requested to perform or display their art at the May 2nd, 2018 meeting of the MacDowell Club at New Covenant Christian Church, 12000 N. Rockwell.  Guest Coffee is at 10:00a.m., and performances begin  at 11:00a.m.

               The application will not be considered if any part is not completed or is missing.

Your  Counselor has a copy of the application and the student letter.  Please make copies for students who wish to apply.  Thank you so much for your help in identifying and encouraging students to apply.  The Scholarship Committee looks forward to receiving applications from students attending your school.  Please call if you have any questions.  My telephone number is 721-6284.  Winners will be contacted on April 23rd & 24th.
